Every year since 2011, BrightLocal has conducted its Consumer Review Survey that aims to “quantify the value that users place on the reviews they read & how this impacts their opinions & actions when seeking a local business to use,” and the 2014 results are in!
When told to select the business types participants had searched for in the last 12 months, 38% of participants listed doctors and dentists, making healthcare the second most-searched business online (restaurants took first place). 35% of the participants were reading reviews of doctors and dentists as they searched.
Also interesting is the breakdown of how a business’s star rating affects who will use their services. What is your practice’s Google star rating?
- 92% of users will use a local business if it has a 4 star rating.
- 72% of consumers will use a local business if it has a 3 star rating.
- 27% of users will use a local business if it has a 2 star rating.
- 13% of users will use a local business if it has a 1 star rating.
